As part of the Hungary Helps Program, the Hungarian Ecumenical Relief Organisation has received funding to set up a crisis centre to accommodate women (usually mothers with children) who have been victims of domestic violence from all over eastern Ukraine. The crisis centre provides safe shelter for refugees who have been raped in conflict zones and for victims of domestic violence, preventing the recurrence of violence that often endangers lives. The building was renovated with a donation from the Hungary Helps Program, and the Relief Organisation, which has years of experience in setting up crisis centres, provided professional assistance in organising and running the centre. The centre provides psychological, social, legal and medical support, as well as shelter and temporary accommodation.
