This launch is more than the start of an online store. It is the result of a journey shaped by hope, healing, and collaboration—a journey that empowers marginalized women in Kosovo, many of whom are survivors of gender-based violence, through the transformative power of art, community, and economic inclusion.
From Vision to Reality: The Story Behind the Project
The CREATResili project, co-funded by the European Union, began with a simple yet powerful idea: that creativity and solidarity can offer a path to personal and social transformation. Over the past year, that idea has grown into a bold and collaborative initiative that spans borders and disciplines. In partnership with the Jahjaga Foundation in Kosovo, and Pro Progressionne and supported by MOME and the Hungary Helps Agency, the project brought together three Hungarian artists—Annamária Kmetyó, Borbála Moravcsik, and Miriam Coulibaly—to co-create garments with women from the Fortis Workshop, a local social enterprise.
What emerged is a collection of 40 unique, limited-edition fashion pieces—each handcrafted, sustainably produced, and rich with story and meaning.
Every Garment Tells a Story
What sets this collection apart is not just its craftsmanship, but the depth of collaboration that brought it to life. Working side-by-side over several weeks, the artists co-designed pieces that reflect themes of resilience, identity, and renewal.
Highlights from the collection include:
- The "Reveal Dress" by Annamária Kmetyó – a garment that symbolizes vulnerability transformed into strength
- Wood Wool – Woven by Womenby Borbála Moravcsik – connecting nature, tradition, and empowerment
- Mirësia / The "Pockets Jacket" by Miriam Coulibaly – hand-embroidered with symbols of memory, survival, and hope
Each item was thoughtfully priced through a transparent, collaborative model, taking into account material costs, fair wages, and artistic value. Most importantly, profits from every sale go directly to the women tailors who participated in the production. Hosted on GjirafaMall, the sales of CREATResili collection is a key milestone in our mission to create real-world economic opportunities for women through creative entrepreneurship.
In the coming weeks, we will be introducing the full collection in more detail, piece by piece—highlighting the design process, the personal narratives behind each garment, and the incredible women who made them.
